Specialising in darabuka (goblet drum), frame drums and riq (Arabic tambourine) Guy Schalom has performed with major Arabic recording artists Natacha Atlas, Hamza Namira, Mahmoud Fadl, Hijazy Metkal, Mussa el Kenawi, the Musicians of the Nile, Joseph Tawadros and dancers as diverse as Aida Bogomolova, Suraya Hilal, Jillina (Bellydance Superstars), Sonia Ochoa (Bellydance Superstars).
He has recorded Arabic and Turkish percussion on albums by artists such as the award-winning Cigdem Aslan, legendary saxophonist Tim Garland, Shekoyokh, The Ayoub Sisters and Camille Malaawy as well as on his own Baladi Blues series and with pop/crossover bands Baked ala Ska and Kamel Nitrate.
