Internalise the major Egyptian dance rhythms and gain confidence improvising to them, learn to interpret the musical signals tabla players use to indicate changes in the music and learn how to indicate your wishes to the musicians during performance.

A detailed look at the key musical stuructures and archetypes of classical Arabic vocal music plus time to practice and develop a stronger feeling for this beautiful style.

Back by popular demand – the Baladi Blues Academy – Practice Session will be hosted by Guy Schalom and Lebanese master out-player and singer Tarek Bitar and offers dancers and musicians a unique opportunity to:
– prepare for auditions, competitions and other performances
– practice improvising with world-class Arabic musicians
– gain a better understanding of Arabic dance music (classical, Baladi and other folk styles)
– have fun, meet like-minded people and
– take your dancing/musicianship to the next level
